.45-70 Government was developed in 1873 for the U.S. military rifle and remains one of the most respected big-bore cartridges in production. In the BFR’s long cylinder, the cartridge delivers the heavy bullet energy associated with lever-action rifles, but from a handgun you can carry on a hip rig.

All-Stainless Construction

The BFR is machined from 17-4 PH stainless steel and stress-relieved to handle the chamber pressures of stout .45-70 loads. The matte stainless finish resists corrosion through hard-use field carry without the maintenance demands of a blued finish.

7.5″ Barrel and Adjustable Sights

The 7.5″ barrel gives the BFR a long sight radius and helps the heavy .45-70 bullet reach useful velocity. The rear sight is fully adjustable for windage and elevation; the front sight is a high-visibility blade. The grip frame is shaped to manage substantial recoil with a two-handed hold.
