Bore Tech Proof-Positive Rifle Patch Jag
The Proof-Positive rifle patch jag is made from a proprietary brass-free alloy with a secondary treatment. Brass jags are over 60% copper, so a copper-removing bore cleaner attacks the jag and colours the patch blue even when the bore is free of copper. The Proof-Positive jag removes that false reading, so you can tell when the bore is actually clean and stop wasting patches and solvent.
- Brass-free alloy, as soft as brass but with high tensile strength so it does not bend or snap under a tight patch
- Two sets of 4 contact rings: the first ring of each set is rounded to centre the jag, the next three have a squared face that holds the patch
- The gap between the ring sets holds clean solvent and releases it before the second set passes
- Jag length is set per calibre to suit the correct patch size and stop patches bunching on the tip
- Reverse taper at the rear gives an edge-free transition to Bore Tech Proof-Positive Bore Stix rods and lifts the rod off the bore when pulling back, protecting the crown
- The .22 RF jag has two knurled bands instead of rings, so the patch can be wrapped or spiked; both .22 jags work in rimfire and centrefire .22 bores
Choose the calibre option: .17, .20, .22 RF, .22 CF, .243/6 mm, .25/6.5 mm, .270, .284/7 mm, .30 (.308/7.62 mm), .338, .35/9 mm, .375, .416, .45 (.44/.45) or .50. All jags are male-threaded. Bore Tech recommends using them with its X-Count patches in the matching size. After use, rinse under warm water. Made in USA.
